Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat, or about your body, what you will wear. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing. Consider the ravens: they neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouse nor barn, and yet God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds! And can any of you by worrying add a single hour to your span of life? Luke 12:22-25
Peace and peacefulness are connected to trust. We do not find inner peace, and we cannot contribute to peace in relationships and in the world until we begin to trust, even a little bit, that God provides for all we need.
Spend a moment noticing your own worries. Use the prayer below to ask for God’s help.
God, I am worried about _______________. Please help me see a way forward. Please give me all that I need to make it through today, and each day ahead.
Now think of one person close to you who is worried about something. What is one thing you can do to ease their worry a little bit? (Offer a hug, tell them you are praying for them, let them off the hook for something they usually do for you, etc.)
