We know that the whole creation has been groaning in labor pains until now; and not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly while we wait for adoption, the redemption of our bodies. For in hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what is seen? But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience
Romans 8:22-25
Peace is about more than the absence of war or violence. It is about health and wholeness for all people, for all beings, for the whole world, for the whole cosmos! Find a blank page to draw a picture of what you think it looks like for “the whole creation” (or one piece of creation) to long for peace. Maybe it would look like Ents battling Sauron in the Lord of the Rings. Maybe it would be an image of a bird or sea mammal in distress because of pollution. Be creative!
